We went to Boyne City as we always do, and sat around until the fireworks started. We had a good time, and enjoyed some treats while we waited. We had Twizzler's, ice cream cones, we brought our own ice cream & cones, and scooped it all out there. We then enjoyed some kettle corn that a vender was making. We saw a few people we knew, and chatted with them. One particular girl, made my day by stopping over to say hi. She is such a sweet girl, and we don't see much of each other anymore, but she always goes out of her way to say, hi. We also witnessed ignorance at it's finest. Some guy had assumed these 2 people were terrorists because one had a accent, and they left their stuff, and there was a backpack sitting there. I get that it looked a bit suspicious, but the way the guy went about the wrong way, and spread paranoia in the air. Never have I witnessed something like that, and the older kids who knew what was going on thought it was a bit crazy too. My gut instinct was telling me that nothing out of the ordinary was wrong, but this guy had my anxiety up. Sad that we live in the world today that we judge people by just about anything now. I get his gut instinct could have been throwing up red flags, but don't scare other people. The 2 people did come back, and were told what had happened, because there backpack had been gone through. They were nice people, as we talked to them after the fireworks, and Kyle helped the girl fold her blanket. They said that that didn't ruin their fun, and it surely didn't ruin ours either. Just made it an interesting night. Fireworks were really good, Boyne City did a good job, as always. It took us forever to get out of there, as always. We usually chill in the parking lot until traffic dies down, so we don't have to fight.
Happy 4th of July!
